Day 3 - August 16th - Freeport ME to Balfast ME

IA long and beautiful day.  Five lighthouses, many photos, new friends and a very long breakwater walk.  Still no alligators....but many less tourists as we get further north.  More fun.

A lot of our pleasure on these trips besides great photo opportunities is discovering new gems.  We love the smallest of back roads and finding unique  little towns.  Today Belfast Maine was a fun discovery and meeting Lea at Rollie's was special.  Lea is a native from Belfast and shared tons of local knowledge as we puffed our cigars and drank our G&Ts on Rollie's back deck.  

We completed our 10,000 steps; 4000 of which while walking out a mile long jetty to Rockland Breakwater Light.... where we almost got stranded as a moon tide was due to submerge the jetty before we got back to the mainland.  We walked back a hell of a lot faster then we walked out!

Enjoyed lunch in Port Clyde the departure point for Mohegan Island.  Another new lovely discovery for us.

Tomorrow over the border into Canada.
